About Dr. Doug
Dr. Douglas Nichols N.M.D.
Practically a Native to the White Mountains, Doctor Nichols first moved to the Snowflake area at the age of three.
A member to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Dr. Doug served his mission in Guatemala, and found it to be an invaluable life experience. He is now fluent in both English and Spanish.
His intended career path was to follow in his father’s footstep, becoming a Holistic Biological Dentist, however, it seemed God had other plans.
He had already been accepted into Dental school when an acquaintance came up from Scottsdale. He was a patient with his fathers practice, and a second year student at the Naturopathic Medical School. This man introduced Dr. Doug to the concept of “natural medicine,” and as the saying goes, the rest is history.
By this time he was already married to his beautiful wife, and went on to enroll himself in the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine & Health Sciences, where he graduated as a Licensed Naturopathic Medical Doctor in July of 2004. It was shortly thereafter that White Mountain Naturopathic Medical came to be.
As per the family, they’re blessed with five children and over twenty years of marriage. All of which are active in both their church, and community.
Dr. Nichols and his wife moved to Taylor over ten years ago, and in his free time he loves the outdoors, especially hiking. He’s also quite passionate about music, and writing poetry.
As if his schedule wasn’t full enough, you’ll also find him serving on the Planning & Zoning Committee for the town of Taylor.
Regardless of what he’s doing on any given day, you can be sure that he’s one who “practices what he preaches.” Never an unkind word to anyone, and always willing to go above and beyond to help others.
